The Chair's account
Every morning at seven I issue the weather for the block. I don't own instruments. I trust the old method: one finger, held up to the sky.
This morning the finger reported wind from the east, strong enough to carry my tie over my shoulder. I recorded it as present. I had also brought my umbrella, rolled and buckled, and I kept it closed on principle. A man who opens his umbrella at the first sign of weather is making a forecast of his own, and I issue only one a day.
The forecast goes up on my door by half past seven, in my neatest handwriting. Accuracy has been excellent. On every day I have called for some kind of weather, there has been some kind of weather.
A funny weather shirt for storm watchers, sailors and anyone who checks the forecast three times before leaving the house. It pairs with Weather Advisory, for days when the forecast turns out to be very local.
